Dice Cups
… the special cups used in Dice-Stacking; available from Mr Dice-Stacking are 4er-Dice-Cups and 8er-Dice-Cups.
Dice Stacking … a game of skill and finesse. Using a specially designed cup, dice are stacked upon one another in a variety of different ways. The cup is tipped to an angle of around 45° to the ground. Through the movement of the cup, and with the use of centrifugal force, the dice form themselves into a stack inside the cup. The dice are then carefully placed on the table (or surface of choice).
Dice-Stacking-Set … is the starter-set equipment sold by Mr Dice Stacking in order for someone to begin Dice Stacking. It consists of one (1) 4er Dice Cup and 4 Dice. It is possible to purchase the Dice-Stacking-Set including a Mini-DVD on which is demonstrated the most important basic techniques as well as a few special tricks.
Dice-Board …the playing board specifically developed by FlashCups GmbH for use in Dice Stacking as the competition surface.
Doubles … a discipline in Sport Stacking where two stackers stack one set of cups together, with one using only the right hand and the other using only the left hand.

FlashPad
… the special mat for Sport Stacking which can be used in competitions. The advantage of the FlashPad is that the cups don’t slip out of control as much as on other surfaces and that means that the stacked up pyramids are more likely to be stable. The FlashPad also reduces the noise factor associated with Sport Stacking. Freestyle … a discipline in the Mr Dice Stacking sport. In terms of competitions, it is a 2minute routine created by the dice stacker him/herself, consisting of a number of pre-determined set elements as well as elements chosen by the stacker. The exact elements vary from competition to competition and are announced prior to the competition. In addition, the stacker is also free to incorporate other equipment into the routine (e.g. extra cups, watches, playing card, etc).
Full Area … a discipline in the Mr Dice Stacking sport. Four ‘Upstacks’, each with 4 dice, are stacked consecutively in the prescribed areas on the DiceBoard.
Fumble … in Sport Stacking: a cup that falls during either the up or down-stacking of a pyramid.

ISSF … the acronym for International Sport Stacking Federation, the international organisation governing Sport Stacking. The ISSF has among its responsibility the organisation of independent sport stacking competitions (i.e. tournaments not aligned with one specific company). J

Mr. DICE Stacking … a sport of skill developed and distributed by FlashCups GmbH. Mr. DICE Stacking is, as the name implies, a sport wherein dice are stacked according to a set of rules and regulations, performed on a professionally designed playing area (DiceBoard). The rules, in conjunction with the DiceBoard, are the difference between Mr. DICE Stacking and other forms of dice stacking that previously existed. Mr. DICE Stacking in its competitive form, only exists when the correct rules and the DiceBoard are used. The rules clearly outline the three disciplines of Mr. DICE Stacking: ‘Full-Area’, ‘Speed-Area’ and ‘Freestyle’. All competitions run by the WDSA (World Dice Stacking Association) use the official Mr. DICE Stacking rules and regulations. N

Point Stack … a term in Mr. DICE Stacking which refers to a stack of dice that are landed exactly on a specific point (e.g. on another dice, or similar). Q

Relay … is a discipline in Sport Stacking wherein teams compete against one another. Each team consists of four stackers who must stack a prescribed discipline, each team member stacking one after the other in the fastest time possible, with as few mistakes as possible. The first stacker starts the timer and the last stacker in the team stops the timer after all team members have stacked (both up and down) the required discipline. S
Speed-Area … a discipline in Mr. DICE Stacking where two Upstacks of dice, each with 4 dice, are stacked in the specifically marked areas on the DiceBoard.
Speed Stacks … the sponsor and initiator of WSSA (World Sport Stacking Association).
Sport Stacking … a sport where specially designed cups are used to build (stack) a specific series of pyramids as fast as possible. Sport Stacking has its own set of specific rules which outlines the various disciplines with their various formations. Fundamentally, the sport relies on the constant use of both the right and left hands alternatively working in combination to stack the pyramids up and the down again. Sport Stacking develops important gross and fine motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination, concentration, speed and precision. In addition, the stacker benefits from increased self-confidence as well as developing skills in teamwork and team spirit.
SportsTimer ... the specially designed timer/stopwatch used in national and international competitions for both Sport Stacking and Mr. DICE Stacking. At least one hand must contact the SportsTimer. The time is started when the stacker removes his or her hand from the SportsTimer. The time is stopped when the stacker replaces his or her hand on the SportsTImer.
Stack … the term used in both Sport Stacking and Mr DICE Stacking for the towers built, be they in cups or in dice.
Stack-Dice … are the Mr. DICE Stacking dice (sold in packs of four) which extend the Dice-Stacking-Set. T
TeachPack … the special packs of Sport Stacking equipment developed for schools and other groups. Included in the TeachPacks are Cups, a SportsTimer, FlashPad as well as a demonstation DVD demonstrating all the skills involved in Sport Stacking. U
Up Stack … the construction of a stack. In Sport Stacking is that the construction of the pyramids. In Dice Stacking is that the construction of the stacks (or towers) of dice. V
WSSA … is the acronym for the World Sport Stacking Association, an American-based association who, amongst other responsibilities, organises Sport Stacking competitions where all equipment used must come from the company Speed Stacks. X
